PATHWAY FORWARD TO TRAINING RECOMMENCEMENT IN THE ACT

I trust you and your families are all coping okay during COVID. It is timely to provide you with an update on COVID’s impact on Zanshin Martial Arts. Yesterday Andrew Barr, the ACT Chief Minister outlined the ACT’s COVID-19 Pathway forward. It is a light at the end of the tunnel. The Chief Minister’s announcement is hopefully a positive pathway to a return to a post-COVID normal. For Zanshin, at this stage the key date in the ACT’s Pathway forward is 29 October. That is when restrictions are expected to ease for certain activities including gyms and organised sport. Maximum numbers and density limits are expected to apply as will COVID safety requirements. The full return to post-COVID normal is staged and will be in accordance with ACT Government requirements for our ACT dojos.

As we move forward toward 29 October, I will try and get as many ACT dojos / school gyms operating as soon as possible after 29 October. I will keep you informed as we inch closer to a return to Zanshin training.

ACT COVID 7 DAY LOCK DOWN UPDATE

The ACT will be in lockdown from 5pm 12/8/2021 for at least 7 days. This snap lockdown will mean that all ACT Zanshin classes will be cancelled for the duration.

The Ai-Ki grading, scheduled for the 14/8/2021, will be rescheduled.

Following ACT and NSW public health advice, Zanshin has to suspend NSW classes for the time being until the current COVID restrictions lift. All of our instructors have been in the ACT in the last 14 days and so cannot take NSW classes.

Please keep an eye on the Zanshin website and Facebook pages for information and changes.

Zanshin will always follow the ACT and NSW Health Guidelines.

Stay safe and stay strong. Our priority is the wellbeing of the ACT and the Zanshin Community; students and family.

WE ARE BACK INTO TRAINING FOR 2021

Zanshin Martial Arts is back into training for 2021. Check out the end of 2020 / start of 2021 training dates to inform you about the date each dojo recommences training in 2021.

Most of the 21 dojos across the Canberra/Queanbeyan region recommence classes in the week starting Monday 4 January.

Whether your 2021 goal is to attain your black belt, progress into the advanced class or through the ranks, or simply get fit and learn self-defence skills, there is no time like now to commit to a regular training regime. Zanshin Martial Arts is full of genuinely good fellow students, many of whom share strong friendships. Our strong group of experienced Instructors will help you to achieve your goals.

For parents of Zanshin kids, the resumption of classes is a great way to entertain your children – or wear them out – during their school holidays. As a parent watching your kids train, why not give it a go yourself? Come and do a trial class at one of our many seniors classes.

As we prepare to wrap up 2020

May you all get to enjoy some time with those you love and have some time off from what has been a challenging year.

Thank you for supporting Zanshin Martial Arts this year. We were fortunate to welcome many new club members, have four club gradings and the Dan grading. Congratulations again to each of you who successfully graded.
